Today special cover issued in Ajmer Postal Division

20th July is the death anniversary of Meera Behn (Madeleine Slade) a follower of Gandhiji. Her father was the commander of the British naval forces. She came to India on the advice of Romain Rolland. She was a pianist.

Madeleine established 'Kisan Ashram' in Haridwar where she lived. She had immersed the ashes of Gandhiji nearby. The ashram is now lost.

Another ashram she established few km upstream Har ki paidi is 'Pashu Lok'. The area is still named thus. PSU IDPL was established in Pashu Lok. Mote recently, an AIIMS has been established there.
