STAMPS.#BIRDSINPHILATELY XX A set of four stamps was released on 23 Nov 1994 carrying images of four different birds- one endemic, two migratory  and one possibly extinct. We shall look at these stamps one at a time. It would be relevent to record here that the stamps were printed by a private printer. The ink used turned out to be defective and water soluble. This resulted in the stamps being withdrawn from use after they had been sold over the philatelic counters. Today, these four stamps sell for exorbitant sums of money because of there being very few available. The first stamp, in a denomination of Re 1 depicted a flying and a swimming Andaman Teal (Anas albogularis). Endemic to Andaman Islands, not all authorities agree that it is a separate species.
