A commemorative postage stamp Issued on (04/August/2006) Pankaj  Mullick ( 10/May/1905 - 19/February/1978) was a popular Bengali Indian music composer , Playback singer and actor who was of Bengali cinema and Hindi cinema .He was big name in the Indian film from 1928 onwards conducting live-orchestras in movie theatres for silent feature films.He got his first break as an independent music director in P.C.Barus's film "Mukti" (1937) . He composed many of the songs which contributed to the popularity great singer K.L.Saigal ( Like "So Ja Rajkumari" ) He was the first person to popularize the song of Rabindranath Thakur through films and his rendition of "Jana Gana Mana" was deemed as the definitive version to be followed while singing the National anthem.He contributed in various capacities to Bengali , Hindi , Urdu and Tamil language films
Sri Pankaj Mullick also worked as music director S.D.Burman , Hemant Kumar , Geeta Dutt and Asha Bhosle and Lata Ji.He acted with famous film actors like K.L.Saigal   , P.C.Barua and Kanan Devi. He was awarded the Padma Shri in 1970/ Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 1972 for lifetime contribution to Indian cinema .

🎶🎶🎤"ज़िंदगी का सफर है ये कैसा सफर कोई समझा नहीं कोई जाना नहीं...                                                                       Kishore Kumar born on 4 August 1929 at Khandwa,  Madhya Pradesh.He was a legendary Indian playback singer who made an immense and unforgettable contribution to Indian cinema. Although he did not receive any formal training in music, Kishore Kumar became one of the most prolific singers in the Hindi music industry. He sang for 1,188 movies, and in several Indian regional languages. Such is his legacy that in 1997 (ten years after his death), the Government of Madhya Pradesh launched the Kishore Kumar Award for contributions to Hindi Cinema. He died on 13 October 1987 in Bombay.

Yashwant Singh Parmar (4 August 1906 – 2 May 1981) was an Indian politician. He was a leader of the Indian National Congress and the first Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh state.  Upon the formation of the constituent assembly of India in 1946, he represented Himachal Pradesh in the constituent assembly.

Yashwant Singh Parmar was the Chief minister of the state from 8 March 1952 to 31 October 1956. On 1 November 1956 Parmar had to step down as Himachal Pradesh became a Union Territory and was placed under an administrator designated as Lt. Governor. He again became the Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh on 1 July 1963 and he was in office till 28 January 1977. The Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC) is a medical training institute in Pune. The college is managed by the Indian Armed Forces.

Established in May 1948 as a post-graduate teaching institution after World War II on the recommendation of the BC Roy Committee, remnants of various Indian Army Medical Corps units were amalgamated to create the Armed Forces Medical services. The AFMC undergraduate wing was established on 4 August 1962, which is also celebrated annually as AFMC Day by its alumni.

The institution primarily imparts training to medical undergraduates and postgraduates, dental postgraduates, nursing cadets and paramedical staff. Patient care forms an integral part of its training curriculum and the attached hospitals benefits from the expertise available at AFMC. The institution is responsible for providing the entire pool of specialists and super specialists to the Armed Forces. The college is also involved in conducting research in various medical subjects as well as those aspects which would affect the morale and performance of the Armed Forces both in war and peace.

Patañjali was a sage in ancient India, thought to be the author of a number of Sanskrit works. The greatest of these are the Yoga Sutras, a classical yoga text. 

He is the compiler of the Yoga sūtras, a text on Yoga theory and practice and a notable scholar of Samkhya school of Hindu philosophy. He is variously estimated to have lived between 2nd century B.C. to 4th century A.D. The Yogasutras is one of the most important texts in the Indian tradition and the foundation of classical Yoga. It is the Indian Yoga text that was most translated in its medieval era into forty Indian languages.

The sage Patañjali is said to have attained Samadhi through yogic meditation at the Brahmapureeswarar Temple located near Trichy. Jeeva Samadhi of sage Patanjali, which is now an enclosed meditation hall, can be seen near the Brahma's shrine within Brahmapureeswarar Temple complex.

Sir Pherozeshah Merwanjee Mehta KCIE (4 August 1845 – 5 November 1915) was a Parsi politician and lawyer from Bombay. He was knighted by the British Government in India for his service to the law. He became the Municipal commissioner of Bombay Municipality in 1873 and its President four times – 1884, 1885, 1905 and 1911. Mehta was one of the founding member and President of the Indian National Congress in 1890 held at Calcutta.

Mehta went to England to study law at Lincoln's Inn in London. In 1868, he became the first Parsi barrister called to the Bar from Lincoln's Inn.

It was during a legal defence of Arthur Crawford that he pointed out the need for reforms in the Bombay municipal government. Later, he drafted the Bombay Municipal Act of 1872 and is thus considered the 'father of Bombay Municipality'.

In 1910, he started The Bombay Chronicle, an English-language weekly newspaper, which became an important nationalist voice of its time, and an important chronicler of the political upheavals of a volatile pre-independent India.
