He dedicated his life for the betterment of his fellow country men and hugely inspired the the Muslim of the north -west frontier to fellow the Gandhian values of non - violence and non-possession. He was described as the "Frontier-Gandhi ( Simanta Gandhi) Khan Abdul Gafur Khan attend the Karachi congress of 1931.He was arrested along with his elder brother Dr.Khan Saheb in 1931 and jailed in the Hazaribagh jail of Bihar.Gaffar Khan was saddest man among his compatriots.He spent the major part of the rest of his life in Pakistan jails. He was honoured with the Award of Bharat Ratna in 1987.He was a c
